Work Party, Coppice Pond, Bingley angling club

There will be a work party at Coppice Pond on Sunday 25th March. If you want to see restocking take place within the next 12 months, please step forward and help us get the work done now. The plan is to make improvements and protection so that aquatic plants can be re-introduced safely away from the ravages of the geese. This will provide shelter for the fish from predators and spawning habitat to allow the fish to breed more successfully. Work Party Coppice pond 7th Jan 2018

There will be a work party at Coppice Pond on Sunday 7th Jan to improve fish habitat and bankside planting Members are welcome to lend a hand as this is quite a large task The party will be meeting at the pond at 10.00am. Those wanting to lend a hand would be advised to bring waders if possible as some of the work is water based. Please note – there may be some disruption to angling in the areas where the works are being undertaken so do be aware of this when setting of for the days fishing!

AGM 2017

This years AGM will start at 8.00pm prompt on Tuesday 14th November 2017 at The Ryshworth Club, Crossflatts, Binlgley BD16 2HB All proposals must be submitted in writing to the club secretary by 31st October, along with details of the proposer and seconder. And claimers for the specimen fish trophy, should also submit their claims with supporting evidence by 31st October. The meeting will be followed with a pie & peas supper 🙂

Coppice Pond April 1st & 2nd

Two things coming up 1st weekend in April at Coppice Pond! Saturday 1st April (no its not an April fool) At some point between 10am and 2pm a researcher from the University of Leeds will be there to take samples of sedimentation from the lake. Looking for fall out of volcanic ash originating from Iceland. Their small working party will be using an inflatable probably in the shallow end as they only want to take core samples to a depth of 50cm. Sunday 2nd April 10.00am. Coppice Pond Work Parties Jan 2017

All members are invited to attend a working party at Coppice Pond, Sunday 8th January 10.00am. This will be the first of a series over the next few months, This one is to start on the next section of fencing, to protect new planting on the banksides. All welcome, the more bodies we can get involved the quicker the work can be done and planting completed.
