The Trout fishing season is officially open from tomorrow 25/03 in the Yorkshire Bylaw areas. As of 25th March at 05:00hrs the club waters that you can fish for trout only until 16th June, are: Newsolme Dean Beck River Aire River Nidd River Swale PLEASE NOTE: River Wharfe – CLOSED – Wray Wood, Boston Spa is now classified as a coarse fishery and will remain CLOSED until 16th June.   Close season begins 15 March 2021 – Coarse fish Last year saw a significant increase in the number of anglers, with many taking the opportunity to try fishing for the first time or after some years. This is great news for angling and we hope those new or returning to the sport are enjoying it. We want to take this opportunity to make those new to the sport aware of the coarse fish close season which starts soon. Lockdown 2 – Can we still go fishing? In short – YES! You may go fishing on your own or with 1 other person, and  travelling a short distance is deemed allowable for this purpose. However please be aware of social distancing rules. What is a short distance? 1mile? 5 miles? 10 miles? The angling trust are seeking clarity? Will tackle shops be allowed to open? COVID-19 update – fishing to restart.

From 6am Wednesday 13th May 2020. Club waters to re-open with the following provisos. Please follow government and Angling trust guidance re: social distancing; safety; etc. You must be in possession of your club membership book and Environment Agency Licence, while fishing. There is an increased likelihood that these will be checked.   NO Day Tickets – until further notice.   Canal open but only if safe to fish and still give a clear space beyond 2m for people to pass (i.e. at least 3m behind you).
