Forthcoming Aire Rivers Trust (and Friends) Events

Friends of Bradford’s Becks have a litter-pick this Saturday (5th May) on Bradford Beck which will run from 10am until midday. Meet by the Nisa store at the junction of Valley Road and Poplar Road. Volunteers are advised to wear boots and warm clothing – litter pickers, gloves, bags and hot drinks will be provided by the organisers. Shipley litter pick this Friday (20th April)

Meet for this Fridays’ Aire Rivers Trust litter pick will be at Wastechasers, 124 Dockfield Road, Shipley BD17 7AR from 9:30 am onwards. Work Party Coppice Pond Sunday 25th March

There will be a work party at Coppice Pond on Sunday 25th March. If you want to see restocking take place within the next 12 months, please step forward and help us get the work done now. The plan is to make improvements and protection so that aquatic plants can be re-introduced safely away from the ravages of the geese. This will provide shelter for the fish from predators and spawning habitat to allow the fish to breed more successfully. Aire Rivers Trust Litter Picks

The latest Aire Rivers Trust litter pick is this Saturday 24th March at Charlestown, meet at 10 am at the “eastern end of Dockfield Road” (Shipley) – by the viaduct and Woodbottom footbridge. Boots and warm working clothes are advised but gloves, litter pickers, bags (and tea, coffee and biscuits) will be provided. There will be another litter pick at Rye Loaf Meadow, Bingley on April 7th, and one on the 20th April at another site. Work Party, Coppice Pond. Bingley angling club

There will be a work party at Coppice Pond on Sunday 7th Jan to improve fish habitat and bankside planting  Members are welcome to lend a hand as this is quite a large task The party will be meeting at the pond at 10.00am. Those wanting to lend a hand would be advised to bring waders if possible as some of the work is water based.   Please note – there may be some disruption to angling in the areas where the works are being undertaken so do be aware of this when setting of for the days fishing!
